We are so proud to announce that our Energy Caseworker, Sophia Reid was nominated, and won, the Heat Hero Award. Sophia attended the House of Commons to receive her award and this is what she had to say.
‘I am so proud to be able to apply my energy industry knowledge to achieve positive results to benefit real people experiencing real problems. There’s opportunity every day at Citizens Advice County Durham on the Energy Project to make a difference, just by listening, noticing the little things and taking action. For me, being nominated for this award alone is an absolute privilege. Being chosen as a ‘Heat Hero’ is utterly overwhelming.
I’d like to thank Sam and all the partners at Advice in County Durham, and my manager Jason for nominating me. This award really reinforces the benefits of effective partnership working. I’d also like to give a massive shout out to my Mum for blessing me with her caring nature, here’s hoping my daughter doesn’t fall too far from the tree!’
